Hello! My name is Roger Morris, I am your local councillor for Crewe Central ward.
From West Street to Underwood Lane, Dunwoody Way to Delemere Street, Broad Street to Bright Street and all roads and communities in between – we are all Crewe Central ward.
I am working for local residents to tackle issues such as pot holes, litter, fly tipping, parking problems, street lighting, and anti social behaviour to make our area better.
I’ve worked in my family business in Crewe Central for 35 plus years. Our motorbike shop was established in 1920 and I’m the fourth generation, still in the same premises on West Street. That is commitment to our area!
During the COVID pandemic, like everyone, I wanted to do whatever I could to help. We desperately needed somewhere in Crewe Central to administer Covid Jabs. I didn’t talk about it – I just did it.
Find out how I helped set up the West Street vaccination centre.
I want to hear from you about what you want doing and how you’d like to help. Tell me about the issues you’d like me to tackle in our area in my Residents Survey.
Read my latest news updates or check my recent facebook posts to find out what I’m up to!
Please follow and share my Facebook page and by sign up for my Email Newsletter so I can keep you up to date on local issues.

Thank you for your support!
Here’s what I’ve been up to recently…
🌟 Supporting Local Businesses in Crewe Central 🏡
Yesterday, I had the pleasure of attending the grand opening of Best Nest, a fantastic new estate agency located at 220 West Street, Crewe. It’s always inspiring to see new businesses opening their doors and investing in our community. 🚀
Local businesses are the backbone of our economy, and as Crewe faces challenges in its town centre, it’s more important than ever to support ventures like this that bring opportunity, create jobs, and build a sense of pride in our area.
A huge thank you to the team at Best Nest for inviting me to celebrate this milestone with them. Wishing them every success in the future—our community is lucky to have you! If you’re in the area, be sure to stop by and check them out. 🙌
I’m on it—championing local businesses and ensuring Crewe Central continues to grow and thrive!

🌟 Supporting Crewe Central’s Local Businesses 🏡
I’m pleased to announce that I’ll be attending the Grand Opening of a new business in Crewe Central—Best Nest, an estate agency opening at 220 West Street, on Friday, 10 January. I’ll be there from 10:30 am, showing my support for this exciting addition to our community.
As Crewe Town Centre faces ongoing challenges, it’s more important than ever to support local businesses. They create jobs, bring opportunities, and help strengthen the local economy. Best Nest’s arrival is a positive step forward, and I’m on it—championing initiatives that help Crewe thrive.
I encourage residents to stop by the opening to celebrate and support this fantastic new venture. Together, we can build a stronger, more resilient Crewe Central.

✨ Working Together for a Cleaner Crewe! ✨
On the 27th, we joined Crewe, St Barnabas – Councillor James Pratt and a brilliant team of community volunteers for a few hours of litter-picking at Leighton Brook Park. 🏞️🌿
It was wonderful to see residents of all ages come together, showing true community spirit. Together, we collected around 20 bags of waste – including some unusual items, like a ride-on car 🚗!
James is a dedicated councillor who’s clearly passionate about making a difference in his ward. It was fantastic to team up with him and so many others committed to keeping our public spaces clean and beautiful. 🌟
We’d also like to join James in thanking Ansa Environmental Services Ltd for their support in collecting the waste. 🙌
This event was a great reminder of what we can achieve when we work together. 💪 We’re On It! 💖

🌨️ Check on Your Neighbours! 🌨️
With temperatures dropping this week, it’s more important than ever to check on our elderly and vulnerable neighbours and family members. 🧣❄️
The recent cuts to the Winter Fuel Payment by Labour have left many pensioners without vital support, increasing the risk of fuel poverty among the elderly. This is unacceptable, especially during such cold weather.
If you or someone you know is struggling to keep warm, help is available:
Cold Weather Payment: Eligible individuals can receive £25 for each 7-day period of very cold weather.
Warm Home Discount: A one-off £150 discount on electricity bills for those on certain benefits.
Household Support Fund: Support provided by local councils in various forms.
Age UK Advice Line: Call 0800 678 1602 for free advice, 8am-7pm, 365 days a year.
British Red Cross Support Line: Call 0808 196 3651 if isolated due to snow or ice.
Let’s come together as a community to ensure everyone’s safety during this cold snap. Stay warm and reach out for help if needed. ❄️🤝

🚧 Quick Update on the West Street Pothole Repair 🚧
Good news! The dangerous pothole on West Street has been repaired, making the road much safer for all users. 🙌 A big thank you to the team for acting so swiftly!
However, during the repair, I noticed that the nearby drain has been left partially blocked with tarmac, creating a new issue. This is disappointing as it could lead to drainage problems and further inconvenience for residents.
💬 I’ve already followed this up with the council and asked for the matter to be investigated and addressed as a priority. I’ve also stressed the need for a review of contractors’ procedures to prevent similar issues in future. Ensuring accountability and high-quality work is essential to avoid wasting funds and to maintain public trust in council operations.
Rest assured, I’m ON IT and will keep you updated! 💪
