Hello! My name is Roger Morris, I am your local councillor for Crewe Central ward.
From West Street to Underwood Lane, Dunwoody Way to Delemere Street, Broad Street to Bright Street and all roads and communities in between – we are all Crewe Central ward.
I am working for local residents to tackle issues such as pot holes, litter, fly tipping, parking problems, street lighting, and anti social behaviour to make our area better.
I’ve worked in my family business in Crewe Central for 35 plus years. Our motorbike shop was established in 1920 and I’m the fourth generation, still in the same premises on West Street. That is commitment to our area!
During the COVID pandemic, like everyone, I wanted to do whatever I could to help. We desperately needed somewhere in Crewe Central to administer Covid Jabs. I didn’t talk about it – I just did it.
Find out how I helped set up the West Street vaccination centre.
I want to hear from you about what you want doing and how you’d like to help. Tell me about the issues you’d like me to tackle in our area in my Residents Survey.
Read my latest news updates or check my recent facebook posts to find out what I’m up to!
Please follow and share my Facebook page and by sign up for my Email Newsletter so I can keep you up to date on local issues.
I want to hear from you! I’d like to know what issues you’d like to see tackled in our community in Crewe Central Ward. Please let me know by completing my residents survey online. |

Thank you for your support!
Here’s what I’ve been up to recently…
🚧 West Street Update 🚧
I’ve seen the condition of the ongoing works on West Street and, like many of you, I had concerns about the current state. I immediately raised these issues with the council’s Traffic and Design team, and I’ve had reassurances from them that this is not the final work. 📝👀
The damaged kerbs are due to be replaced, and the tarmac you see is temporary – new tactile paving will be laid over the coming weeks to improve safety for all. The team has confirmed they are working to reuse original paving stones where possible, keeping the character of the area intact. 🏗️✅
I’ll be keeping a close eye on this project to ensure the standards we expect are met. Your concerns are my priority, and I’ll keep you updated as the work progresses. 💬

🚶♂️ Starting This Week: Visiting Every Home in Crewe Central!
As your councillor, I believe it is essential to not just be visible at election time but to be available year-round for all residents of Crewe Central. This week, I will begin visiting homes and businesses across our ward, starting with the vital areas of Crewe Town Centre.
Our town centre desperately needs focus and revitalisation, and I want to hear directly from you what your priorities are. Whether you voted for me or not, I am here to serve everyone. Together, we can drive Crewe back to where it used to be—thriving and full of opportunity.
This is not just about policy—it’s about listening and acting on the concerns of the people I represent. Your voice matters, and I am here to ensure it is heard.
📣 If you own a business, live in Crewe Central, or simply have something to say—let’s talk! I want to work with you to build a brighter future for our community.
Let’s take action. Let’s bring Crewe back to where it used to be. 💪

🚨 **PROPOSED CUTS TO BLACK BIN COLLECTIONS!** 🚨
**Time to Speak Up, Crewe!**
First, they charged us £56 for green bin collections, then hiked it to £59. Now, our **Labour-led Cheshire East Council** wants to cut the frequency of black bin collections from every 2 weeks to every 3! 🤯
**BLACK BINS ONLY EVERY 3 WEEKS?!**
This is a recipe for **overflowing rubbish,** more fly-tipping, and a real mess on our streets in **Crewe Central.** 🗑️❌
Let’s not forget—**Crewe is already the fly-tipping capital of Cheshire East!** Out of 4,238 incidents across the borough, a staggering **3,242** happened right here in Crewe. That’s over three-quarters of all the fly-tipping in Cheshire East happening just in our town!
This is not the future we want for our community. **We deserve better.** Let’s send a clear message to those in charge:
**FIGHT BACK TO SAVE OUR BIN COLLECTIONS!** 🗣️💪

🚨 Feeling Let Down by Our MP’s Choice! 🚨
I was truly disappointed to learn that our local MP, Connor Naismith, has voted in favour of cutting the Winter Fuel Payment for pensioners. This isn't just another policy decision – it's about real lives and real anxieties right here in our community. 😔
Decisions like this shouldn't be about following the party line. They should focus on the people who put you in office, and that means looking out for the most vulnerable among us. I find it hard to understand how anyone could vote for this cut, especially with the expected rise in utility costs. ❌🔥
We have to remember that politics is meant to serve people, not political interests. It's about making choices that protect those most in need. I’m committed to standing by our community, whatever it takes. 💪🏡
A reminder to all pensioners: Please check if you’re entitled to Pension Credit – it can make a big difference. 📞 You can call Age UK on 0800 731 0160 for help. I've spoken to many people who aren't aware they could claim – don’t miss out on support that’s there for you!
